The buttery sweet vocal harmonies of The Silvertones would melt even the stoniest hearts. Silver Bullets is their classic and standout album and is now reissued for the first time as part of an archival series focused on the most essential sounds of Trojan Records throughout the 60s and 70s. Delroy Denton first ford the group in 1964 with Keith Coley and Gilmore Grant. They went on to make music under various different names for Duke Reid's Treasure Isle and Coxsone Dodd's Studio One. This debut record from 1973 was recorded at the legendary Black Arc in one marathon all night session. The roots reggae sounds are free flowing and seductive and make a moment where both the past and the present of reggae collided.
Reissue on vinyl for this classic album originally released in 1978 on Carib Gems. Arranged and produced by Bunny Lee. Delroy Wilson was one of Jamaica's most soulful vocalists, and over a 40-year career the singer unleashed a flood of hits and a multitude of masterpieces. Born in the Kingston neighborhood of Trenchtown, Wilson's phenomenal talent would be his ticket out of the ghetto, and his discovery by producer Coxsone Dodd in 1962 would change the path of Jamaican music.
