Sonic Youth
Hold That Tiger
In October 1987, a few months after releasing their critically acclaimed LP, Sonic Youth delivered a powerful live performance at Chicago's Cabaret Metro. The show was introduced by Steve Albini, despite his ban from the venue at the time, and was later released as a semi-official bootleg by Byron Coley's label. This release foreshadowed the name the band would eventually use for their own imprint, blending provocation with a nod to major-label culture.
