Jonah Sharp's Reflective imprint re-opens its catalogue with a release by debutante Cahl Sel. This homegrown San Francisco artist has been playing live in California with a minimal hardware rig for the past few years, and these four tracks reflect his beat-driven but melody-led sound. 'Every Moment' recaptures the zeitgeist on early '90s intelligent techno as heard on seminal imprints like Peacefrog, while the emotive Motor City vibe of 'Routine' over on side B takes things in a more soulful direction. Closing it out is the sublime ambient journey 'February' calling to mind John Beltran's finer moments.
