Son Of Chi
We Carry Eden
Son Of Chi’s album "We Carry Eden" is a two-part immersive composition blending spoken word, field recordings, drones, dub, jazz, fourth world, and ambient music. Created by Rotterdam-based multi-instrumentalist Hanyo van Oosterom, the work reflects his long career and the closing of the CHI collective chapter following the passing of his collaborator. The album features deep, meditative soundscapes with rhythmic dub basslines and percussion, drawing inspiration from storytelling traditions, especially through the voice of Omar Ka, a Fulani storyteller. Rooted in philosophies from the Greek island of Patmos and Native American Hopi wisdom, the album conveys a message of harmony, nature, and respect for ancient knowledge.
